The Rozel Bay Inn

Set right on the slipway at sleepy Rozel harbour, this pretty pub has cask ales, a popular seafood-leaning menu and a few outdoor benches with views straight across the bay to the headland beyond. Inside it's all low ceilings, nautical bric-a-brac and a warm fire in winter, with a small but well-loved dining room that fills up fast once word gets round that the day's catch is on the specials board. Expect fresh local crab, moules and a changing list of fish dishes alongside more familiar pub classics, served by staff who know most of the regulars by name. It's the kind of place couples linger over a long lunch, while walkers tackling the coastal path between Rozel and Bouley Bay treat it as the perfect halfway reward - especially with a pint enjoyed on the benches as the tide comes in.

Tiny - book the restaurant side in summer, especially for evening meals, as walk-in tables are scarce on warm weekends.
