The Lamplighter

It's known for having one of the biggest cask-ale ranges on the island, with regularly rotating guest beers chalked up on boards behind the bar, plus a solid selection of ciders and spirits. There's no food menu to speak of, but that's part of the appeal - this is a proper drinking pub with a loyal regular crowd and a genuinely warm welcome for visitors. Friendly to walk-ins and groups, it gets lively but rarely rowdy, and is a good first stop for anyone wanting a taste of old St Helier.
