St Brelade Half day Checked 2025-11
A sheltered south-coast cove with a tiny tidal island crowned by a tower.
One of Jersey's most photographed views, and the water in the lee of the headland is some of the calmest on the south coast.
Reached by a long flight of steps from the headland, Portelet is a golden, south-facing cove guarded by Île au Guerdain — a rocky islet topped by a Martello-style tower known as Janvrin's Tomb. At low tide you can walk out to the islet across the sand.
About 200 steps down (and back up). The wood-fired pizza café on the beach is a cult favourite.
