The south coast of Jersey cradles St Aubin's Bay, a natural suntrap where the waters remain largely sheltered and shallow. This geographical advantage makes it a prime location for stand-up paddleboarding, offering an accessible entry point into watersports. The bay’s expansive reach allows for exploration with views stretching back towards the historic Elizabeth Castle and the bustling St Helier waterfront. Operators along the beach and at St Aubin Harbour provide equipment and guidance, ensuring both safety and enjoyment for all skill levels. It's an opportunity to experience Jersey's picturesque coastline at a measured pace, observing the landscape as you glide across the water.
Visitors can hire paddleboards and receive a brief safety orientation, including a leash for the board. Lessons are available for those new to the sport. Spend an hour or two paddling along the coast, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the calm waters. You'll find yourself amidst stunning scenery, with the potential to paddle the entire bay on a still evening. This spot is particularly well-suited for families and those looking for a gentle introduction to watersports, promising a memorable experience on the water.
St Aubin's Bay stretches along Jersey's south coast, conveniently accessible from St Helier. You'll find operators offering paddleboard hire and lessons at various points along the bay, including near The Beach Hut. The area around St Aubin Harbour offers charming eateries and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a post-paddle refreshment. Local buses serve the bay regularly, making it easy to reach from other parts of the island.
Aim for high tide and days with light winds; the water is deepest then, offering the most expansive paddling area. Keep an eye out for occasional jet skis further from shore.
The late afternoon to early evening on a calm summer's day provides the most enchanting experience, especially for a sunset paddle.
Best at high tide and in light winds. Watch for the occasional jet-ski further out.

We had a fabulous experience with Absolute Adventures this week. Had booked for a Rib tour, but unfortunately due to the amazing weather had been trying to get a parking space for 45 mins. Thought we would definitely miss it but Dom recommended somewhere to park and held the boat back for us! 5 star experience, will definitely be back. Thanks so much!
Could not recommend kayaking with these guy’s enough, if you’re looking for a unique, memorable experience with experts who care about you, then you’ve found it! We witnessed wildlife up close, went to secret beaches, cliff jumped into deep pools and saw parts of the island we’d never have seen otherwise. The kids loved it, I loved it and a mixed group of ages, from all over the world, bonded with a lovely shared experience. We had a great instructor, Luigi, who kept us all safe and happy.
My two boys had such a great experience, we can not rate Absolute adventure highly enough, booked a second experience this weekend, and when we return to Jersey will book again, great value for money and memories that will last a lifetime, Thanks Tom Amelia the coasteering was a great experience for them. Thank you.
