The full story

A two-storey granite pub built around an old corn mill, with the island's largest waterwheel — 18 tons and 21 feet across — still turning behind the bar. The Germans requisitioned the wheel to power searchlights during the Occupation. Big gardens, a summer BBQ shack and a children's play area make it a classic post-beach stop.

Good to know

On the St Ouen / St Mary border right behind Grève de Lecq beach; the garden fills up fast on sunny afternoons.
