The story

Coronation Park — known to locals as Millbrook Park — runs along St Aubin's Bay, with a huge children's playground, skate ramps, basketball court, picnic lawns and direct access to the beach. The cycle path links it to both St Helier and St Aubin, so it's a natural stop on a flat family bike ride.

What to expect

The biggest free family playground on the island, with a beach two minutes away.

Good to know

Toilets and a kiosk on site in summer; free parking but it fills up on hot weekends.

What a wonderful park, it's spacious with amazing flora & fauna. The whole place is designed to relax & bring a sense of calm. It caters for adults with seating & children with an outdoor waterpark, plus there's a lovely bandstand to shade from the sun. There is also a wonderful story book trail that provides a diversion. If you have a couple of minutes nip into St Matthew's Glass Church with its unique Lalique design throughout & right next to the park.

Coronation Park is a great place for all ages and different families. The park has four different areas: one for toddlers up to 6 years old, another for slightly older children, a water park that was renovated last year (though it occasionally has issues with the water, it's usually on during warm days), and a green area for picnicking or nice walks. There is plenty of parking space available with yellow disk parking and on the avenue, where you need to display a parking ticket from April to October (Sundays are free of charge). The park has one cafe that serves homemade pizza, hot dogs, various snacks, drinks, and ice cream. Not far from the park, there's a petrol station, a kiosk, a takeaway, and a Morrisons shop.

Great place for kids to play in the water fountains! Also a cafe for hot or cold food. Parking can be tricky... So you need to get here early! Water part opens at 10am
