The Hungry Man

A tiny red-and-white kiosk perched above the slipway at Rozel Harbour, The Hungry Man has been dishing out hot crab sandwiches and bacon baps to a queue of locals and walkers for decades. There's nowhere to sit beyond the harbour wall itself, where gulls wheel overhead and fishing boats rock gently at their moorings - but that's exactly the point. The crab sandwich, piled high with freshly dressed local crab on soft white bread, is the thing everyone comes for, alongside bacon rolls, hot dogs and steaming mugs of tea served through the hatch. It's a quick, no-frills stop that suits walkers on the north-coast path, families on a day out, and anyone wanting an authentic taste of old Jersey.

Takeaway only, with seating limited to the harbour wall; cash and card accepted but expect a queue on sunny weekends.
